I informed Natalie that Ava had made a statement to me.
Nothing more.
Natalie contacted the child and family investigator.
Ava was re-interviewed.
Without Daniel.
Without me.
She clarified:
The barbecue contact was accidental.
She remembered two times Kate intentionally touched her arm.
One was near traffic.
One during an argument.
She did not remember other specific incidents.
Her father told her:
“People forget patterns when they don’t want to see them.”
She interpreted that as meaning there had been more.
The investigator did not label Daniel a brainwasher.

She wrote:
Father’s repeated framing may have influenced minor child’s interpretation and confidence regarding ambiguous past interactions.
Precise.
Ava also disclosed:
She wanted contact with Elise.
Not full custody change.
Not moving.
