“His mother welcomed the mistress and her baby… then the DNA result destroyed them.Part2”

PART 2
Dr. Ellis unfolded the report slowly.
Eleanor stood beside Vanessa’s chair, the baby still pressed against her chest.
Her expression was tense now, but pride kept her chin high.
Adrian stood near the table with one hand curled into a fist.
Vanessa looked between them as if she had entered a room she suddenly did not understand.
Clara stayed beside the chair that had been taken from her.
She did not sit at the end of the table.
She did not sit at all.
Some humiliations become less powerful when you refuse the place assigned to you.
Dr. Ellis looked at Clara once.
She nodded.
Then he looked at the page.
“The baby is not his.”
For one second, nobody reacted.
The words seemed too simple to carry so much destruction.
Then Vanessa gasped.
Lydia covered her mouth.
Eleanor looked down at the baby as if the child had changed in her arms.
Adrian closed his eyes.
Clara watched him.
That was the reaction she had waited for.
Not surprise.
Not shock.
Only dread.
Eleanor’s voice came out sharp.
“What did you say?”
Dr. Ellis repeated it.
“The child is not Adrian Whitmore’s biological child.”
Eleanor turned on Vanessa.
“You lied.”
Vanessa stood so fast the chair scraped loudly against the floor.
“No.”
Her face was pale.
“I didn’t.”
Eleanor stepped back with the baby.
“You brought another man’s child into my home.”
Vanessa’s eyes filled.
“You brought me here.”
Eleanor flinched.
Adrian snapped, “Vanessa, stop.”
Vanessa turned toward him.
“No.”
Her fear changed into anger.
“You don’t get to make me stand here alone.”
Adrian’s jaw tightened.
“Careful.”
Clara looked at Vanessa.
“What did he promise you?”
Vanessa’s lips trembled.
“A home.”
The room went still.
“And?”
Vanessa looked at Eleanor, then at the baby.
“A name.”
Eleanor whispered, “A name?”
Vanessa’s voice cracked.
“He said your family would accept the baby if the story was clean.”
Adrian slammed his hand on the table.
“Enough.”
The baby began to cry.
Eleanor jolted as if she had forgotten he was real and not just proof.
Clara moved before anyone else did.
She stepped toward Eleanor and held out her arms.
Eleanor froze.
Clara’s voice softened.
“He is frightened.”
For a moment, Eleanor looked too ashamed to move.
Then the baby cried harder.
Vanessa reached for him, but Eleanor clutched him instinctively.
That made Clara’s eyes narrow.
“You wanted him as a grandson.”
Her voice was quiet.
“Now let him have his mother.”
Eleanor slowly handed the baby to Vanessa.
Vanessa held him close and rocked him with shaking arms.
The child quieted against her shoulder.
The room seemed to breathe again.
Clara looked at Adrian.
“How old was he when you met Vanessa?”
Adrian said, “This is none of your business.”
Clara took one step closer.
“You made him my business when you brought him to my dinner table.”
Vanessa whispered, “Six weeks.”
Lydia’s eyes filled.
Eleanor turned slowly toward Adrian.
“You knew the child already existed.”
Adrian looked away.
Vanessa laughed through tears.
“He found me at the clinic.”
Clara’s stomach tightened.
“What clinic?”
Vanessa looked at her.
“The one you used.”
The words hit Clara like ice.
Adrian turned sharply.
“Do not say another word.”
Vanessa held the baby tighter.
“You told me she was finished.”
Clara’s face went still.
Vanessa continued.
“You said your wife could never give you a child.”
“You said your mother would do anything for an heir.”
“You said if I helped, everyone would be taken care of.”
Eleanor sank slowly into Clara’s stolen chair.
The chair of honor had become a chair of shame.
Clara looked at Adrian.
“You went to my fertility clinic to find a woman with a baby.”
His silence answered.
Dr. Ellis looked pained.
“Clara.”
She lifted one hand.
“Not yet.”
Her voice did not break.
Not yet.
She needed the whole truth before grief could have her.
Vanessa wiped tears from her cheek.
“I was behind on rent.”
“He paid the hospital bill.”
“He moved me into an apartment.”
“He said the baby’s father had already left.”
Clara looked at Adrian.
“Did he?”
Vanessa shook her head.
“No.”
The room froze again.
Adrian’s face went white.
Eleanor whispered, “What?”
Vanessa’s voice trembled.
“Marcus wanted to raise him.”
Clara frowned.
“Marcus?”
“My baby’s father.”
Vanessa looked down.
“He works construction.”
“He didn’t have money, but he wanted his son.”
She looked at Adrian with disgust.
“Adrian paid him to disappear.”
Adrian snapped, “He took the money.”
Vanessa cried harder.
“Because you threatened him.”
Lydia whispered, “Oh my God.”
Eleanor looked sick.
The family legacy she had wanted to protect had become something rotten in front of her.
She looked at Clara.
For the first time, there was no judgment in her eyes.
Only horror.
Clara did not comfort her.
Eleanor had not earned comfort.
Clara turned back to Dr. Ellis.
“You said you warned him.”
The doctor exhaled.
“Yes.”
Adrian’s head jerked up.
“Doctor.”
Dr. Ellis looked at Clara.
“I cannot disclose everything without your permission and legal context.”
Clara’s eyes sharpened.
“Legal context arrived when he used a child to commit fraud.”
Adrian lunged toward the doctor.
Security was not there, but Lydia’s husband grabbed Adrian’s arm.
Adrian shook him off.
“Everyone is overreacting.”
Clara laughed softly.
That sound made him stop.
“You bought a baby’s identity.”
Her voice shook now.
“You brought a mistress into your mother’s house.”
“You let your mother call me barren for six years.”
Eleanor flinched.
Clara continued.
“And now you want to call this overreacting?”
Adrian’s face twisted.
“You are acting like you’re innocent in this.”
The room went silent.
Clara stared.
“In what?”
His voice lowered.
“In making me desperate.”
That sentence did what his affair had not.
It killed the last thing in Clara that still wanted him to become better.
Eleanor stood abruptly.
“Adrian.”
He turned on her.
“You wanted an heir.”
Eleanor froze.
“You reminded me every week that the Whitmore name was dying.”
“You told me Clara had failed.”
“You told me I deserved a son.”
Clara looked at Eleanor.
Eleanor’s eyes filled.
But Clara felt no relief.
Only exhaustion.
Because cruelty had passed from mother to son like an inheritance, and now both of them stood shocked by what it had purchased.
Clara reached into her handbag.
Adrian’s eyes followed.
She removed a second envelope.
Eleanor’s voice trembled.
“What is that?”
Clara placed it beside the DNA report.
“The result Dr. Ellis did not read yet.”
Adrian stepped back.
The movement was small.
But everyone saw it.
Vanessa whispered, “What result?”
Clara looked at her husband.
May you like
“The one that explains why he knew the baby could never be his.”
Continue to Part 3 to reveal Adrian’s hidden medical result, the reason he blamed Clara for years, and the secret that finally breaks Eleanor’s loyalty to her son.
