Mafia Boss Finds His Starving Infant Nursing From A Grieving Maid Before A Locked Nursery Reveals Someone Inside His Mansion Has Been Poisoning The Baby.
Lorenzo Rossi entered the nursery ready to destroy someone.
The red warning light above the white door pulsed against gray nursery walls painted with soft cloud decorations.
The medical monitor beside the crib beeped too fast.
In the armchair near the door, the night nurse lay unconscious, her pale-blue uniform wrinkled, one hand hanging loose beside a suspicious glass on the floor.
And in the center of the room stood Hunter Higgins, barefoot in a pale-blue robe, holding Lorenzo’s two-month-old son against her chest.
Leo was wrapped in a white blanket.
His tiny hand rested weakly against Hunter.
His mouth moved.
Lorenzo’s jaw clenched.
“Put my son down. Now.”
Hunter’s face was wet with tears, but she did not loosen her hold.
She looked directly into his eyes.
“Please—listen. He’s swallowing.”
Lorenzo froze.
The monitor rhythm shifted.
Still fragile.
But steadier.
He moved closer, slowly now, and placed two fingers near Leo’s cheek.
The baby swallowed again.
Lorenzo’s anger broke open into fear.
“Why couldn’t twenty doctors make him eat?”
Hunter glanced toward the unconscious nurse.
Then toward an unopened bottle near the crib.
“Because someone has been putting something in his milk.”
The room went cold.
Lorenzo turned sharply toward the nurse.
The red warning light began flashing faster.
Then the nursery door slammed shut.
A heavy electronic lock clicked from outside.
Lorenzo instantly moved between Hunter, Leo, and the door.
A woman’s voice whispered through the sealed frame.
“You were never supposed to find out.”
Hunter clutched Leo tighter.
The nurse began to stir.
The monitor light reflected across Lorenzo’s face.
And inside the locked nursery, the most feared man in Long Island realized the danger had never been outside his mansion.
