“I thought I was authorizing long-term storage,” Graham said.

“The clause was buried.”
“You still signed it.”
Graham looked toward Richard.

Richard laughed without humor.

Graham learned about Adrian seven years later.

“Did she know I might die?”
“She believed the real medication would remain in the garage emergency cabinet.”
Richard looked at Lena.
The cabinet had been emptied before dinner.
Security footage showed Graham’s deputy entering that afternoon.
Marcus.
He had removed the medicine after receiving a text.
Marcus claimed Catherine told him Richard planned to fake a heart attack and accuse them.
He removed the medicine to expose the performance.
Every person acted on a different lie.
The combined result became attempted murder.
Then the external federal team located Margaret.
She was inside a private chapel beneath Whitmore Memorial Hospital.
The hospital where Helena was born.
Agents entered.
Margaret stood alone beside an open infant incubator.
No Catherine.
No guards.
No visible injuries.
She looked at the camera.
“I’m ready to come home.”
Before officers reached her, the chapel doors sealed.
Gas entered through the ventilation system.
Margaret collapsed.
A screen activated above the altar.
Catherine appeared live.
“She always chooses reunion too late.”
Richard watched helplessly from the hospital.

“The Christmas vote will occur where the first child was stolen.”
The six child objects vanished from the federal evidence vault simultaneously.
