Nathan found the document in my unread email.

Subject:

TEMPORARY FAMILY CARE PROTOCOL.

Sent by Theresa’s lawyer four weeks earlier.

I had opened it.

Scanned the first page.

Forwarded to Nathan.

Then forgot.

The document proposed allowing Theresa to:

Coordinate Nora’s school schedule.

Authorize routine medical appointments.

Communicate with therapists.

Approve travel within the state.

Manage household support payments.

Serve as temporary caregiving representative while Audrey remained medically unavailable and I traveled.

Could it make Theresa Nora’s legal parent?

No.

Could it terminate Audrey’s rights?

Absolutely not.

Could it override me?

No.

It was a limited delegation.

Potentially useful.

Also dangerous if broad.

Nathan had replied:

Needs narrowing. No independent medical decision authority. No trust/financial powers. No placement authority.

I never answered.

The document remained unsigned.

Good.

Then Theresa’s copy.

Marked in handwriting.

ADD:

Residential school/temporary placement consent if needed.

ADD:

Emergency authority if Audrey incapacitated.

ADD:

Family estate as primary residence.

Then another note:

Gabriele will sign once Audrey worsens.

My body went cold.

Not:

if Audrey dies.

Worsens.

Theresa had been waiting for weakness.

Then Mina's trust? User didn't mention wealth. Could be modest family? But Mafia boss likely wealth. Yet central shouldn't become same trust every story. Avoid child's trust. Focus household/family succession maybe. Still empire maybe not in hook. Here no empire. Good.

Theresa did not need money from Nora.

She wanted authority.
