Beds were warm.

Noah’s name appeared on a room assignment.
So did six other children connected to custody disputes influenced by Richard’s organization.

Therapists coached them to describe abuse as misunderstanding, family discipline, or emotional confusion.

Elena recognized him.

Cole also treated Sophie after her father’s death.
The therapist who knew Sophie’s vulnerabilities had supplied them to Richard.
Elena confronted him under recorded questioning.

Cole had helped design the principal-office confrontation.
He expected Elena to strike Richard or Max.

“Richard is not the one who ordered Sophie targeted.”
“Who did?”
Cole looked toward the observation glass.
“The person who benefits when you reopen Noah’s case.”
Elena assumed Richard feared review.
Cole suggested someone wanted it.
The Summit Ridge records contained deliberate clues leading investigators toward Senator Bell and Richard.
