Chapter 1

Three Privileged Boys Covered a Scholarship Girl in Toxic Paint Until Her Carpenter Father Returned With State Investigators.

Caleb Rourke stood in the elite school courtyard with both hands gripping his daughter’s trembling shoulders.

Maya was soaked from head to toe in cobalt-blue exterior paint.

It dripped from her dark hair, ran down her face, clung to her blazer, skirt, socks, and shoes. Her breathing came in short, frightened pulls. One hand clutched Caleb’s sleeve like she was afraid the ground might disappear beneath her.

Principal Evelyn Shore stood in front of them, polished in a navy suit and pearls, one palm raised toward Caleb as if he were the danger.

“Stay quiet, Mr. Rourke, or this could affect her place here.”

Caleb’s fingers tightened.

Maya shook harder.

Blue paint fell onto the gravel between his boots.

Then Maya turned her paint-covered face toward him.

“Daddy… I couldn’t breathe.”

The words changed everything.

Caleb moved one arm around her chest, checking her eyes, her mouth, her breathing. His anger became horror.

Then he looked at Principal Shore.

“You left her covered in paint for twenty-four minutes.”

For the first time, her expression cracked.

Near the wooden shed, Grant Hollister lifted his phone higher, still recording.

He smirked.

“It was content. She should be grateful.”

Caleb slowly looked at the phone.

Then at the silver paint bucket beside the shed.

Then at the security camera above the school entrance.

His rage became calm.

Terrible calm.

Vehicle doors slammed beyond the gate.

Marcus Vale entered the courtyard with two state investigators and a forensic technician carrying sealed evidence bags.

“Nobody touches those phones. Preserve everything.”

Grant’s smile vanished.

Principal Shore turned pale and stepped toward the school doors.

An investigator calmly blocked her path.

Caleb pulled Maya closer, shielding her from the courtyard that had laughed while she struggled to breathe.

And the school finally understood this was no longer a discipline issue.

It was evidence.
