Chapter 16 - THE SIGNATURE PAGEOne page in the hospital folder carried my signature.

I stared at it.

Not electronic.

Ink.

My name.

My handwriting.

Dated six months earlier.

“What is this?”

Leah examined it.

A general shareholder consent from a prior routine transaction.

The page had been copied into the new packet as an exhibit demonstrating my historical agreement to the transfer formula.

Not represented as my signature on the current transfer.

Technically.

But placed behind the new agreement in a way that frightened me.

My father later said:

“It was reference material.”

Leah said:

“It was reckless presentation.”

No forged signature.

Important.

The truth did not need forgery to be coercive.
