Worth it.
Medical proxy:
Me first.
Sancia backup removed.
Why me?
Because Eleanor trusted me for medical decisions.
Did trash-can incident concern her?
Yes.
She added Brynn, a longtime friend, as secondary.
No one person alone for major end-of-life decisions.
Good.
Property:
Any sale required Eleanor’s own signature while competent.
If later incapacitated, Melissa plus independent attorney review.
No child could sell alone.
Then Sancia said:
“You removed me from everything.”
Eleanor answered:
“You removed yourself from roles by using them for something I said no to.”
Good.
Then:
“Am I still your daughter?”
Eleanor looked at her.
“Yes.”
No hesitation.
That mattered.
Administrative removal was not family exile.
Then Eleanor’s first supervised visit with Sancia after legal counsel allowed it.
Not with Maelle.
Just mother and daughter.
I was not there.

Eleanor later told me only:
“She apologized badly.”
I laughed.
“What does that mean?”
“She spent twenty minutes explaining why she was right before saying she shouldn’t have done it.”
