Chapter 11 - The Sister Who Was Never MentionedNatalie contacted me through an encrypted video call.

She sat in a dark office, visible only from the shoulders upward. Her face mirrored mine with unsettling precision, but a thin scar crossed her upper lip.
“Are you my twin?” I asked.
“We were born seven minutes apart.”
“Why do no records show you?”
“Because Marcus removed me.”
According to Natalie, Adrian Vale discovered his adviser was stealing from vulnerable family trusts almost thirty years earlier. Marcus retaliated by arranging the abduction of one of Adrian’s infant daughters through a private adoption network.
My mother suffered a breakdown after Natalie vanished.
Vanessa was born four years later.
Adrian feared the truth would endanger all of us, so he sealed the original birth records and publicly acknowledged only me.
“Where were you raised?”
“Inside families financed by Marcus.”
“Why didn’t you contact us after becoming an adult?”
“I did.”
Natalie claimed she approached Adrian eight years earlier. He confirmed her identity through DNA and quietly added her to the original will.
Marcus discovered the reunion.
Adrian died weeks later.
Natalie fled with evidence but lacked enough proof to challenge the public estate without exposing herself.
“Did you take control of my company?”
“Temporarily.”
“You used my biometrics.”
“They were originally linked to both of us.”
“That does not give you permission.”
“No.”
At least she did not pretend otherwise.
“Did you create the debt assignment?”
“Part of it.”
Natalie purchased several Bellweather loans through intermediaries before I acquired the remaining portfolio. She wanted Evan and Marcus to believe the debt could still be manipulated.
“Did you know Vanessa would push me?”
“I knew Marcus planned another accident.”
“You let it happen.”
“I sent Daniel and Lena to the building.”
“You sent help after the push.”
“I believed the camera and locked chair would deter her.”
“They didn’t.”
Natalie lowered her eyes.
“No.”
Another adult had used danger as a controlled experiment and miscalculated the cost to my body.
I was tired of people describing survival as proof their plan had worked.
“Return my company.”
“Not until Marcus is exposed.”
“It is not yours to hold.”
“The authentic will says otherwise.”
She opened the envelope taken from my wheelchair.
Adrian’s will identified three daughters.
Natalie received thirty-four percent.
I received thirty-four percent.
Vanessa received twelve percent.
Employees received twenty percent.
No one held control alone.
The founder system had temporarily elevated Natalie because the will’s emergency clause recognized a “previously concealed heir” when the public owner became medically compromised.
Marcus intended to use that clause with a false Natalie.
The woman on my screen claimed to be the real one.
“Where is the original DNA proof?” Camille asked.
“Inside Adrian’s private vault.”
“Location?”
“Marcus has it.”
The story depended on evidence controlled by the enemy.
Natalie could be truthful.
She could be Marcus’s most elaborate weapon yet.
Then Vanessa entered my hospital room under guard.
She saw the video screen and stopped.
“Natalie.”
I turned toward her.
“You knew?”
Vanessa began trembling.
“I met her after Dad died.”
“Why didn’t you tell me?”
“She offered to help me prove you had stolen my inheritance.”
Natalie’s expression hardened.
“I offered to show you the real will.”
“You told me Nora knew about you.”
“I said she might.”
Vanessa looked between us.
“Marcus told me Natalie was dangerous. Natalie told me Marcus killed Dad. Evan told me both of you planned to leave me with nothing.”
Every conspirator gave Vanessa a version in which she was the abandoned sister.
She responded by helping destroy us all.
Then Natalie’s office door opened behind her.
Marcus Bell entered holding a gun.
Natalie did not turn.
“I told you the call would bring him,” she whispered.
Marcus aimed toward her back.

“Now ask Nora which sister she wants to save.”
👉 Marcus finally reached the hidden sister, forcing me to choose while I still could not prove whether Natalie was family or bait.
