Her mother had kept cookie recipes, old holiday cards, and emergency cash in that box for years.
Hale’s team found it in the remains of the pantry, protected inside a metal tin.
Most of the paper was smoke-damaged.
But enough survived.
A rental agreement for a small apartment in Ventura.

A printed email from a family law attorney.

Richard kept his face blank.
