Chapter 7 - RICHARD NEVER KNEW THE NUMBERRichard knew I came from money.

Some money.
I told him my family was “comfortable.”
A cowardly understatement.
I told him we were estranged.
True.
He assumed my savings came from an inheritance under two million.
I never corrected him.
Why?
At first privacy.
Then fear.
By year three, Richard had begun using my salary without asking.
By year four, he demanded access to every account he knew existed.
If I revealed the family holdings then, I knew exactly what would happen.
So I hid behind technical truth.
The assets were held through trusts and entities with professional administration.
I did not use them for household expenses.
Richard never asked the right questions.
