Eli stared at Rebecca.
“You came here knowing.”
“Yes.”
“You planned to tell us after Terminal Zero.”
“Daniel asked me to wait.”
Jonah laughed without humor.
“The family motto.”
Rebecca accepted the accusation.
Leah’s existence changed the trust hierarchy. Daniel’s original documents granted controlling shares to the eldest recognized child.
Leah was primary heir.
The twins were secondary co-heirs.
Victor had found her after Shaw accessed sealed witness files.
He did not need Eli and Jonah if he could force Leah to authenticate.
Why reveal her now?
Because Leah’s profile alone could open only the legitimate business vault. The criminal Atlas archive required all three Mercer heirs.
Daniel had built the system to prevent one coerced child from surrendering everything.
Victor assembled the entire family to break it.
Leah appeared again on video.
Her face was bruised, but her voice remained steady.
“Do not come.”
Victor pulled her backward.
Eli looked at Maya.
“Everyone says that when they know we will.”
The federal team designed a controlled entry.
Eli, Jonah, and Daniel would approach Terminal Zero.
Leah’s biometric file would be blocked remotely if Victor attempted forced authentication.
Maya refused to allow the twins into the central chamber until tactical officers secured the outer tunnels.
Celeste insisted on joining command.
Daniel objected.
She looked at him.
“You lost the right to decide which parent is useful.”
He stopped.
At midnight, the team entered Grand Central through a sealed maintenance stairway.
The city moved above them without knowing.
Trains thundered through active tunnels while the group descended into older darkness.
Terminal Zero contained a circular vault door, medical scanners, and a wall of Atlas servers.
Victor stood beside Leah.
Caleb remained near the console.
Kendra Shaw held a weapon.
No Jonah substitute.
No additional guards visible.
Too easy.
Maya spoke through the hidden earpiece.
“Thermal scans show six people behind the server wall.”
Victor looked toward the twins.
“Daniel’s children always arrive when someone tells them not to.”
Eli answered.
“We learned from him.”
Daniel absorbed the blow.
Victor demanded all three heirs approach the scanners.
Leah refused.
Kendra pressed the weapon against her shoulder.
Caleb stood near the override switch.
His eyes moved toward Eli.
He wanted help.
Victor had promised to release him after authentication. No one believed it now.
Jonah stepped forward.
“Let Leah go. You already have us.”
Victor smiled.
“That is exactly why I need all of you.”
Daniel secretly activated the analog emergency door he designed years earlier.
Nothing happened.
Victor laughed.
“I removed your exits.”
For the first time, Daniel faced a system he could not control.
Maya’s tactical team breached the outer tunnel.
Hidden guards opened fire.
The server wall began closing.
Caleb struck Kendra’s arm.
The weapon discharged into the ceiling.
Leah tackled Victor.
Eli and Jonah pulled her toward the vault as officers entered.

Caleb surrendered.

The vault had already begun an automatic countdown.

Leah placed her palm on the first reader.

Eli turned toward the command camera.
