Michael admitted Evelyn once used the same bakery owner to preserve documents. The owner’s mother worked with Evelyn during the Whitmore investigation.
Every year, Camille ordered Harper’s cake there without knowing one layer contained a concealed storage cavity.
The drive had likely been transferred into each birthday cake until the seventh-year condition activated.
Corinne knew because Meadowridge had monitored the bakery.
Before leaving the kitchen, she copied one file to the pantry camera’s cloud storage.
The video showed Camille, Sabrina, and Corinne at seven years old.
All three wore identical pink dresses.
They sat around a small birthday table inside Meadowridge.
Samuel Warren placed three cups before them.
“One contains medicine,” he said. “Two contain lemonade.”
The girls were told the one who remained awake could go home with Evelyn.
It was a lie.
Camille drank first.
Sabrina knocked her own cup over.
Corinne switched cups when Samuel turned away.
Camille became disoriented but remained conscious longer than expected. Sabrina pretended to collapse. Corinne drank nothing.
The girls tried to protect one another.
Then Teresa entered.
She selected Camille.
“Why her?” Samuel asked.
“She watches the others before herself,” Teresa answered. “That makes her useful for inheritance.”
Sabrina was placed with a foster family.
Corinne remained at Meadowridge.
The division was not random.
Each girl’s response became a role.
Camille—the protector.
Sabrina—the deceiver.
Corinne—the strategist.
The adults reinforced those roles for decades until the sisters mistook them for personality.
Camille watched the recording twice.
“I remember holding Sabrina’s hand.”
Sabrina began crying.
“I remember spilling my cup because Corinne whispered not to drink.”
The memory contradicted everything Teresa told them.
Corinne had once protected her sisters.
Something happened later that turned her into the system’s planner.
The copied file ended with Evelyn entering the room unexpectedly.
She slapped the cups from the table and shouted that the children were not research subjects.
Samuel ordered staff to remove her.
Teresa blocked Evelyn from reaching Corinne.
That was the night Evelyn learned all three daughters were alive.
Her investigation began there.
The stolen drive likely contained what happened afterward.
Detective Hayes traced Corinne’s vehicle to an abandoned shopping center. The car contained the unicorn costume, wigs, and multiple phones.
The drive was gone.
A voice message waited on one device.
Corinne addressed Camille directly.
“You believe I stole the archive because I serve Teresa. I stole it because Evelyn lied to all of us.”
She claimed Evelyn chose Camille deliberately after the first birthday experiment. Evelyn could not legally recover all three girls without exposing her own involvement in the medical program that created them.
“What involvement?” Sabrina whispered.
The archived birth records listed Evelyn not only as mother but as a junior attorney for Samuel Warren’s research foundation.
Before having children, she drafted privacy contracts used to conceal experimental births.
Evelyn later tried to dismantle the program, but her earlier work helped build it.
Camille’s mother was neither innocent nor equal to Teresa.
She had participated before becoming a whistleblower.
Corinne said the drive contained Evelyn’s original confession and Robert Whitmore’s real medical report.
She offered to exchange it for Harper’s seventh-birthday trust authorization.
“Why does she want the authorization?” Nolan asked.
Daniel explained that the trust’s genetic-data rights could be transferred only with signatures from Camille and Harper’s biological guardian.
Camille was currently guardian.
If Corinne proved Camille’s identity had been altered or obtained guardianship through fraud, she could challenge the position as an identical Mercer daughter.
“She wants Harper’s medical patents,” Camille said.
“Or she wants control of the archive connected to them,” Daniel replied.
Corinne sent a meeting location: the closed Meadowridge campus.
She demanded Camille come without police.
Camille refused.
Detective Hayes planned covert surveillance.
Before they could leave, Dr. Patel called them into Harper’s room.
Harper had drawn three women beside a unicorn cake.
One was labeled Mommy.
One Aunt Sabrina.
The third had no name.
Behind them stood a fourth woman with silver hair.
“Who is this?” Camille asked.
Harper touched the silver-haired figure.
“She gave Miss Corey the bottle at school.”
The woman was not Teresa.
Harper had drawn Evelyn Mercer.
