Chapter 10 - The Transfer OrderThe transport team wore legitimate uniforms.

Their ambulance carried valid state registration.

The court order bore a real judge’s signature.

Only the timing exposed the fraud.

It was filed before Dr. Vale supposedly evaluated Olivia by video.

Dr. Patel refused to release her.

The lead transporter placed a hand on the bed rail.

“We have authority to move the patient.”

Detective Brooks stepped between him and Olivia.

“You have authority based on a report from a missing doctor.”

“Our legal department verified it.”

“Then your legal department can explain itself downtown.”

Hospital security escorted the team away.

One transporter quietly handed Lena a business card before leaving.

On the back he had written:

They told us she assaulted a nurse. Check who sent the body-camera file.

No nurse had been assaulted.

The video attached to the order showed a girl in a hospital gown throwing a tray.

Her face resembled Olivia’s, but the camera never captured her clearly.

The timestamp matched the hour Olivia was inside the MRI scanner.

Robert’s network had created a replacement patient.

Dr. Patel ordered every corridor camera preserved.

Lena traced the footage to a simulation room rented by Mercer Development for “medical safety training.”

The actress was Emma Ross.

The missing construction witness.

Now twenty-one.

Emma contacted investigators after learning the transport failed.

She had spent nine years under Robert’s financial guardianship.

He paid her housing and medical bills in exchange for appearing in staged videos, signing affidavits, and testifying when former Mountain Crest patients challenged their records.

“He said my father died because he ignored procedure,” Emma told Lena.

“Do you believe that?”

“No.”

“Why continue helping him?”

“He showed me documents saying I caused the equipment failure.”

Emma had been twelve.

Robert convinced her she would be prosecuted if the original case reopened.

The same pattern again.

Children turned into accomplices by adults who first made them afraid.

Emma agreed to testify and identify the Mountain Crest storage archive.

But she warned that Harrow maintained an emergency deletion system.

“If Robert thinks the trust hearing is lost, he’ll destroy everything.”

Olivia’s eighteenth birthday was six days away.

Robert needed the incapacity order before then.

A family-court hearing was scheduled for the next morning.

Robert and Jennifer planned to argue that Olivia’s accusations resulted from medication, family conflict, and a history of attention-seeking.

Tyler’s confession would be attacked as an attempt to avoid assault charges.

Caroline’s evidence would be attacked because of her complicity.

Emma’s testimony would be attacked because of her prior false statements.

The truth had been buried beneath enough compromised witnesses to make every honest voice appear unreliable.

Dr. Patel prepared to testify about the objective evidence.

“Bones do not adjust their stories to protect adults,” she said.

At the hearing, Robert entered in a dark suit and portrayed himself as a devastated father.

Jennifer cried softly beside him.

Their attorney showed childhood videos of Olivia screaming, refusing medication, and striking a wall.

The clips ended before showing what happened first.

Dr. Patel presented the MRI chronology.

She explained each fracture, the untreated healing, and the hidden implant.

Robert’s attorney suggested Olivia’s injuries could result from self-harm.

“Can a child deliberately create a compression fracture while sedated?” Dr. Patel asked.

The attorney did not answer.

The judge postponed the incapacity decision and ordered Olivia to remain under independent medical protection.

No final legal outcome followed.

As officers escorted Robert from the courtroom, he leaned toward Tyler.

“You think they’ll forgive you when they hear the boathouse recording?”

Tyler froze.

“What recording?”

Robert smiled.

May you like

“The one where you ask me to get rid of Olivia.”

👉 Robert claimed Tyler once requested Olivia’s removal—and the hidden recording could destroy his confession before the next hearing.
