He knew Clara’s daughter could be separated after delivery.
He did not know Mateo’s real mother.

Chloe testified about the affair.

“Did he know you were not pregnant?” the prosecutor asked.
“Yes.”
“Did he tell guests otherwise?”

“Why?”

“Sometimes.”

“You used your own baby shower as an investigative trap.”
“Yes.”
“You expected Julian to remain inside a room full of agents and evidence.”
“Yes.”
“You concealed the investigation from your husband.”
“Yes.”
“Did that deception contribute to his anger?”
“It contributed to his ignorance. His fist remained his decision.”
The ballroom recording played once.

Jurors received transcripts afterward.
The prosecution did not replay Clara falling.
Julian testified.
“I thought Clara was destroying my family.”
“Were the shell companies criminal?” prosecutors asked.
“Yes.”
“Were the medical reports false?”
“Yes.”
“Did your parents plan to take her child’s identity?”
“Yes.”
“Then what family was she destroying?”
“The only one I understood.”
The answer explained.
It did not excuse.
The jury convicted Julian of aggravated assault, conspiracy, attempted identity theft, financial fraud, forged-document offenses, obstruction, medical-coercion conspiracy, and participation in attempted unlawful custody transfer.
He was acquitted of attempted fetal homicide. The punch endangered Clara and June, but prosecutors did not prove a specific intent to kill the unborn child.
Julian received a lengthy prison sentence.
His late cooperation against Arthur and Blue Cradle reduced some financial counts. His abuse of marriage, violence against a pregnant woman, and preparation to remove June increased the term.
The divorce became final separately.
Clara restored her legal name to Clara Arden.
She retained lawful Arden assets.
Marital property was divided after criminal funds and fraudulent debts were removed. Julian did not receive founder shares or child-related voting rights.
Clara received sole legal and physical custody of June.
Julian could provide verified medical history. Any later contact required treatment, risk review, and June’s developmental needs.
No automatic visitation began in infancy.
Julian requested that June receive letters.
The court allowed sealed correspondence subject to independent review when she became older.
Clara did not read them unless a medical issue required it.
She preserved no obligation for June to forgive the father whose face resembled hers.
Julian also requested a copy of the baby-shower photograph taken before Chloe entered. Clara stood beside him beneath the pale-blue balloons, smiling.

Clara kept none.
She retained a photograph taken four days after June’s birth—her daughter asleep against her shoulder, no corporate symbols nearby.
Chloe sent Julian no letter.

Years later, Julian admitted during treatment that he had resented Clara’s ownership long before Arthur revealed the founder amendment.
He wanted to become the person through whom her wealth moved.
His family supplied the machinery.
