Eli stole confidential documents.
Eli assaulted Mark.

Michael hated the company.
Michael had coached his son to “take down Grandpa.”
My father’s sister called me.
“Could Eli have misunderstood?”
“He has cracked ribs.”
“Teenagers fight.”
“He was held in a basement.”
“According to him.”
That hurt.
Then Mark filed a complaint describing Eli striking him in the mouth.
True.
Mark had a photographed split lip.
Could Eli technically have committed assault?
Context mattered.
He swung after Mark took his phone and grabbed him.
Investigators treated the entire sequence.
They did not declare Eli angelically incapable of force.
Good.
The prosecutor eventually declined charges against Eli based on circumstances and available evidence.
But for weeks, the counterstory worked emotionally.
Family split.
Some relatives stopped calling.
Others called too much.
Eli saw exactly how quickly adults could transform:
injured kid
into:

problem kid.
That became part of his trauma.
