PART 7

Victor ordered security to remove Emma.

Security did not move.

That surprised him more than anything else.

The head of security looked at Ethan instead.

Ethan stood in the aisle with the DNA results in one hand and his whole life destroyed in the other.

“Do not touch them,” Ethan said.

Victor’s eyes widened.

“Ethan.”

“You are emotional.”

Ethan laughed once.

It sounded broken.

“Yes.”

“I just found out I have four children.”

“And that my father sold them out of my life.”

Vanessa stepped forward then.

Still in her wedding gown.

Still pale.

But steady.

“Mr. Harrison, did you know about these children when you arranged this marriage?”

Victor looked at her.

“Vanessa, this is not your concern.”

Her father rose from the front row.

“It became our concern when you tried to marry my daughter into a fraud.”

The word fraud spread through the ballroom faster than gossip.

Victor’s empire had survived scandals before.

Affairs.

Settlements.

Hostile takeovers.

But fraud spoken publicly at a billionaire wedding had teeth.

Grace opened the second folder.

“Mr. Harrison filed trust restructuring documents last week.”

“These children were directly targeted by exclusion language.”

Ethan turned to Victor.

“You knew they were mine.”

Victor said nothing.

Silence was confession wearing a tuxedo.

Noah tugged Emma’s hand.

“Mom, is he mad at us?”

Ethan’s face collapsed.

He knelt again, lower this time, as if approaching a frightened animal.

“No.”

His voice shook.

“No, buddy.”

“I am not mad at you.”

Caleb hid behind Lily.

Ava stared at Ethan with bold suspicion.

Lily asked, “Then where were you?”

The question struck harder than anything Victor had said.

Ethan looked at Emma.

She did not save him from it.

She should not have to.

He turned back to Lily.

“I didn’t know.”

Then he swallowed.

“And I should have found out.”

Victor scoffed.

“You see?”

“He admits it.”

Ethan stood.

“No.”

“I admit I failed them.”

“You planned it.”

The ballroom doors opened.

Two private investigators entered with a process server.

Grace turned toward Victor.

“Speaking of planning.”

“You have just been served.”
