Anna’s former obstetrician was questioned the next morning.
He admitted signing several behavioral summaries prepared by Aaron.
He said Aaron described emergency symptoms and presented himself as Anna’s medical proxy.
“Did you ever examine Anna before writing that she was psychotic?” Mara asked.
“I observed anxiety during appointments.”
“Anxiety is not psychosis.”
“I relied on family reports.”
“You implanted the capsule.”
The doctor’s attorney interrupted.
He claimed the procedure involved removal of an infected cyst.
Medical records showed an incision but no pathology report, no photograph of the alleged cyst, and no laboratory confirmation.
The doctor finally admitted Aaron brought the capsule into the procedure room.
“He said it was an approved maternal monitoring device.”
“Did you verify that?”

“Did Anna consent?”
“There was a signed form.”
“The signature was forged.”
“I did not know.”
“Did you inspect the device?”
“No.”
“Then you placed an object beneath a pregnant woman’s skin based on her husband’s instructions and a paper you did not verify.”
The doctor lowered his face.
“Yes.”
He claimed he never knew the capsule contained medication.
Aaron paid the clinic two hundred thousand dollars through a consulting contract the following week.
