part 6

PART 6
Sienna removed the ring before Logan could stop her.
It was not a dramatic throw.
She simply twisted it off and held it in her palm.
That made it worse.
A thrown ring is anger.
A removed ring is realization.
Logan stared.
“Sienna.”
She looked at him.
“Was anything real?”
He stepped closer, but the officer’s presence held him back.
“Don’t do this here.”
She laughed through tears.
“That’s your favorite sentence today.”
Claire watched in silence.
She did not pity Sienna enough to forget the slap.
But she understood the expression on her face.
The moment a woman realizes she did not win a man.
She inherited his pattern.
Sienna held up the ring.
“Did you buy this with your own money?”
Logan’s jaw tightened.
“I arranged it.”
“That’s not an answer.”
He looked toward his parents.
His mother would usually rescue him.
This time Vivian looked too stunned to perform belief.
Naomi slid another page across the gate counter.
“The jeweler invoice lists a deposit from a personal credit line that was opened using projected settlement income.”
Sienna frowned.
“What does that mean?”
Claire answered softly.
“It means he bought your ring with money he expected to take from me.”
Sienna closed her eyes.
Karla the cousin whispered, “Oh my God.”
Logan snapped, “Everyone stop acting shocked.”
His mask cracked fully then.
“You all enjoyed the upgrade.”
He pointed at his parents.
“You loved the itinerary.”
He pointed at Marcy.
“You posted the villa before we even got there.”
Then he looked at Sienna.
“And you wanted the life.”
Sienna flinched.
He was not wrong.
That was why it hurt.
Wanting luxury had made her easy to fool.
But wanting luxury had not made Logan innocent.
Claire stepped beside Ava and Mason.
She did not want them absorbing their father’s collapse as a lesson that women were to blame for his choices.
“Wanting something does not excuse stealing it.”
Mason looked at her.
She held his gaze.
“Remember that.”
He nodded.
Ava wiped her cheek.
“Dad, why did you lie about Mom?”
The question struck Logan differently.
He turned.
“I didn’t lie.”
Ava’s voice broke.
“You told us she cared more about the company than us.”
Logan looked at Claire with hatred.
Claire said nothing.
This was between father and daughter now.
Ava continued.
“You told us she made the divorce ugly because she wanted control.”
Logan’s voice hardened.
“She did.”
Naomi opened another folder.
Claire almost stopped her.
Then she saw Ava’s face and stayed silent.
Naomi placed one page before the kids.
Not details.
Not adult ugliness.
Only the custody notes showing Claire had requested shared time, therapy support, school stability, and no public disparagement.
Ava read.
Mason leaned beside her.
Their faces changed.
Ava whispered, “She asked for more time with us.”
Logan said, “Legal wording.”
Mason turned on him.
“You said she didn’t fight.”
Logan’s silence returned.
That silence cost him more than any speech could have.
Ava turned to Claire, devastated.
“Mom.”
Claire opened her arms.
Ava stepped into them.
Mason came too.
The embrace was awkward because teenagers do not become children again easily.
But they were still hers.
They had always been hers.
Claire held them both at Gate B17 while the adults around them stood in the wreckage of a lie.
Sienna watched with tears in her eyes.
Maybe because she saw what Logan had almost taken from Claire.
Maybe because she wondered what he would take from her one day.
The airline supervisor returned.
“We need to clear the gate area.”
Naomi nodded.
“We’ll move.”
Logan tried one final time.
“Claire, let’s discuss this.”
She looked at him over Ava’s shoulder.
“We are done discussing theft as if it were a marriage problem.”
His face tightened.
“What do you want?”
Claire looked at the children.
Then at Sienna.
Then at the family that had cheered his upgrade.
“The truth.”
She picked up her suitcase.
“And repayment.”
Logan laughed bitterly.
“You’ll get neither.”
Naomi smiled slightly.
“That’s where you’re wrong.”
She lifted her phone.
“The bank has already frozen the related accounts.”
Logan’s face went blank.
Naomi continued.
“And the travel agency has opened an internal fraud case.”
Sienna looked at her ring.
Then at Logan.
Then she placed it on the gate counter.
“I’m not boarding a life paid for by another woman.”
For the first time that day, Claire respected her a little.
Not much.
May you like
But enough to leave without hating her.
Continue to PART 7 to see Logan’s family turn on him, Sienna learn what he hid about the wedding, and Claire take her children home from the airport.
