Silence.
Then Evelyn:
“She fell.”
Daniel:
“Because you drugged her?”
Evelyn:
“I did not drug anyone.”
Daniel:
“You put something in her tea.”
Evelyn:
“You knew.”
Long silence.
Daniel:
“I thought it was herbal.”
Evelyn:
“And I thought you wanted your marriage over.”
That sentence changed the emotional structure of everything.
