Gloria’s group never reached the lobby.
They entered a staff elevator using Malcolm’s court credentials and descended to the underground parking level.
By the time officers reached it, the vehicle was gone.
The child seen between them remained unidentified.
Sarah stared at the security image.
“That isn’t Lizzy or Grace.”
Beth examined the frame.
The girl moved stiffly, as though sedated.
Lucy recognized the coat but not the face.
Hannah searched the patient database for another Elizabeth connected to the Harper Foundation.
The protected index revealed an incomplete profile.

Sarah looked ill.
“I saw another crib after the delivery.”
Natalie turned.
“What?”
“I was heavily medicated. Gloria said I was hallucinating.”

“Why didn’t you tell us?” Beth demanded.
“I thought they would kill her.”
“So you helped hide everyone else.”
“Yes.”
Patricia had not merely acted from loyalty or professional fear.
Her child was leverage.
Again, the network survived by making one victim responsible for another.
Federal agents entered the Harper Foundation headquarters.
The upper floors were empty.
In the laboratory basement, they found children’s clothing, facial-recognition equipment, patient bracelets, and a small room prepared to photograph Clara as Lizzy.
Gloria, Malcolm, and Clara had left through an underground parking tunnel.
A map showed the tunnel ended beneath Judge Cole’s private courthouse garage.
The judge had built an escape route into the family court.
Sarah looked toward Natalie.
“They’ll issue another order.”
Within minutes, Judge Cole scheduled an emergency hearing.
The subject:
Permanent removal of Lizzy and Grace from Sarah and Natalie due to alleged conspiracy, kidnapping, and psychological manipulation.
The petitioner was Gloria.
The hearing would occur privately before dawn.
The named child representative was Malcolm Reed.
The court notice described Clara as the “true Elizabeth Harper” and claimed Lizzy and Grace were unrelated impostors coached by Natalie.
They intended to replace the children legally, not only medically.
Then Adam found another signature on the contingent account.
His own.
The date was six months earlier during the trust audit.
“I never signed that,” he said.
Natalie looked at him.
Every forged document had once hidden beneath a real one.
“What did you sign that day?”
Adam remembered a routine beneficiary verification packet.
