Chapter 10 - Every Champagne Glass Freezes

No financial retaliation was revealed.

No one lost access to Ryan’s fortune on screen.

No final family consequence arrived.

The story ended inside the Beverly Hills mansion at night, where the golden ballroom lights met the harsh white glare of the outdoor service kitchen, and every champagne glass had frozen in the hands of frightened guests.

Emily stood beside Ryan, wrapped in his black suit jacket, soaked beige blouse hidden beneath it, long wet dark hair clinging to her tear-streaked face.

Her raw hands held the unopened velvet jewelry box.

She looked humiliated.

Exhausted.

But no longer alone.

Ryan stood next to her in his fitted black suit and open white shirt, his face carved with protective rage. His smartphone glowed in one hand, showing only an unreadable financial screen.

His thumb hovered above one command.

Linda stood near the patio doorway in her black evening gown, diamonds trembling against her throat. Her cruel confidence had collapsed into grotesque panic.

Rachel gripped the doorframe in her champagne dress, staring at the phone as if it could erase her place in the family with one touch.

The guests behind them remained silent beneath chandeliers and floral arrangements.

Dirty pots steamed in the service kitchen.

Greasy water dripped from the sink.

The sponge Emily had dropped still floated where she left it.

Ryan looked at every face gathered in the doorway.

Then he asked the question that made Linda go white.

“Who turned my wife into your servant?”

No one answered.

No one dared.

Emily clutched his jacket closed with shaking fingers.

Linda’s lips moved soundlessly.

Rachel’s champagne glass tilted but did not fall.

Ryan’s thumb remained suspended above the screen.

And in the final breath before he acted, every person in that mansion understood that the fortune they had been celebrating was still in the hand of the man who had just found his wife hidden outside with their dirty dishes.
