Chapter 1

Billionaire Husband Forces His Wife to Accept Two Million Until His Mother’s Attorney Calls About the Secret Will.

Rain hammered the stone driveway outside the Greenwich mansion so hard it looked like the sky was trying to wash Maya Sterling away.

She was on her knees in front of the open carved wooden doors, her pale-blue wrap dress soaked through, her dark hair plastered to her face, her hands trembling against the rain-slick pavement.

Above her, under the warm chandelier light spilling from the mansion, Ethan Vance pointed at her like she was something that had crawled onto his property.

Beside him stood Chloe in a fitted red evening gown, one hand wrapped possessively around his waist, her smile sharp and satisfied.

Ethan threw a folder of papers toward the steps.

“Sign the papers! Take the house, two million, and disappear!”

The documents slid across wet marble.

Maya looked at them, then at the mansion she had helped restore, decorate, protect, and turn into a home while Ethan built his empire on her silence.

For one second, she nearly broke.

Then something in her face changed.

She pressed one palm against the stone and stood.

Water streamed from her hair and dress, but her shoulders straightened.

“I’m not signing away a life I helped build.”

Ethan stared as if she had spoken in a language he did not recognize.

Chloe stepped forward, red gown untouched by the rain.

“You already lost, Maya. This is our family now.”

Maya’s soaked pocket vibrated.

She pulled out her phone and answered on speaker.

Attorney Nathan Cole’s calm voice cut through the rain.

“Maya, do not sign anything. Eleanor left instructions for you alone.”

Ethan’s face drained.

Maya stepped onto the first marble stair.

“Tell him the will reading is going to change everything.”

Read Chapter 2 👉 Because Ethan knew Nathan Cole’s voice, and the moment he heard his mother’s name, the mansion no longer felt like his.
