Husband Hides His Wife at a Corporate Gala Before Her Billionaire Brother Takes Control of the Entire Estate.
Vivienne Sterling walked across the marble ballroom holding her daughter’s hand while her husband struggled against two police officers behind her.
The chandeliers burned gold above the luxury Manhattan gala. White floral arrangements towered between black-tie guests. Champagne glasses froze halfway to lips as hundreds of people watched the woman Dominic Hale had tried to hide step into the center of the room.
Vivienne wore a rose-pink sequined gown.
Sophia, only six years old, wore a sparkling pink princess dress and a tiny tiara.
They looked like they belonged at the gala.
That was exactly what Dominic had tried to prevent.
“Vivienne, call them off!” Dominic shouted.
His dark suit was wrinkled now, his shirt loosened, his arrogance cracking beneath panic.
Vivienne stopped but did not immediately turn.
Sophia looked back at him with confused, tearful eyes.
Slowly, Vivienne faced her husband.
“You introduced another woman and her son as your family.”
The ballroom went silent.
Chloe, Dominic’s secretary, stood among the guests in a burgundy gown with one hand pressed to her mouth.
Then she stepped forward, voice sharp with desperation.
“She has no authority here!”
Victor Sterling moved beside Vivienne without touching anyone. Calm. Controlled. Dangerous in the way powerful men become when they no longer need to raise their voices.
He removed a sealed black corporate folder from inside his jacket.
“This estate and your company answer to Sterling Capital.”
Dominic stopped struggling.
He knew that emblem.
Everyone in his industry knew that emblem.
Vivienne stepped forward, Sophia’s small hand still locked in hers.
Her voice did not shake.
“Then tell Sophia who you came here to celebrate.”
Dominic opened his mouth.
No answer came.
Because the truth was standing in front of him in matching pink gowns.
