Transfers made to hinder legitimate creditors can sometimes be challenged.
He claimed Mark moved the house into trust to avoid repayment of the $410,000 family loan.
If the loan was valid, the trust deed might face attack.
That was why the debt document mattered.
Make Mark a debtor.
Make the trust a fraudulent transfer.
Recover house.
Richard did not need a perfect lie.
He needed enough paperwork to create litigation and leverage.
Maybe Laura settles.
Maybe she cannot afford years of lawyers.
Maybe grief makes her surrender.
Dana said:

Except Mark had anticipated one thing.
Attorney fees for defending the residence trust were paid from a separate legal-defense reserve.
