One year? Can't wait. We are maybe 4 months after assault. Protection order permanent for one year already. Review? Could be modification after criminal sentencing, but still months.
Ryan requested modified communication for co-parenting.
Court allowed:
Parenting app.
No direct in-person contact without third party during exchanges.
No entering my home.
No harassment.
Not dissolve order.
Then visits with Ava.
After six weeks of supervised contact:
No safety incidents.
Ryan compliant.
Evaluator recommended:
Move to monitored community visits.
Still no overnight.
Ava was infant.
Then later:
Unsupervised two-hour daytime visits with professional exchange.
Could that happen despite DV? Maybe with risk assessment and treatment progress.
I opposed initially.
Judge asked:
“Has Ryan threatened Ava?”
“No.”
“Violated order?”
“No.”
“Completed domestic-violence treatment?”
In progress, compliant.
“Any substance issue?”
“No.”
Then narrow progression approved.
I hated it.
But child is not a punishment tool.
Then Ryan missed one visit due jail reporting obligation. He notified.
No violation.
Then Marcus asked:
“How can they give him the baby?”
I answered:
“Because he hit me, not her.”
He looked at me.
“That sounds insane.”
