Margaret’s file included school incidents.
We obtained actual school records.
Her notes said:
Emma frequently cries at drop-off.
School records:
Three nurse/counselor visits over six months.
Not frequent.
Her note:
Emma refuses classroom transitions.
Teacher report:
Occasional transition difficulty early in school year, improved with visual schedule.
Her note:
Emma socially isolates when upset.
Teacher:
Emma has several friends, sometimes seeks quiet corner when overwhelmed.
No special-education classification.
No behavior intervention plan.
No suspension.
No safety concerns.
Then Margaret had written:
School may support stricter placement.
School counselor testified in evaluation:
“I never recommended a different caregiver or school.”
Did Margaret contact school?
Once.
Without our knowledge.
She called pretending? Not pretending parent. She identified as grandmother and emergency contact.
Asked:
“Does Emma cry often?”
Counselor said she could not discuss details without parent consent.
Good.
Margaret then told Jason:
“School is concerned.”
False.
When confronted:
“I inferred.”
That word became dangerous.
Margaret inferred:
School concern.
Clinical significance.
Parenting failure.
Need for private school.
Need for her involvement.
Then Jason admitted he trusted those summaries because he was angry with me.
That damaged his credibility.
But he corrected.
He contacted school directly.
Apologized for family interference.
Removed Margaret as emergency pickup temporarily.
Both parents listed only.
Then practical system:
School portal goes to both of us.
No grandmother intermediary.
Medical portal:
Both parents.
No Margaret.
After-school:
Both.
