Genevieve was acquitted on the broadest attempted-property-fraud count.
Why?
The government had difficulty proving she intended to obtain a specific property transfer through the fake document rather than use it as leverage in a disputed family settlement.
Ugly.
But criminal elements matter.
She was convicted on:
Knowing use of a false legal instrument.
False statement regarding provenance.
One narrower attempted-deception count tied to settlement certification.
Mixed.
No conviction that she tried to steal Primrose’s entire inheritance.
Because she did not.
She tried to manufacture bargaining power.
Still criminal.
Then outside court, reporters shouted:
“Mrs. Locke, do you regret attacking your niece at her birthday?”
That was not part of criminal case.
Genevieve kept walking.
Good.
No public meltdown.
Then sentencing scheduled.
Family trust sanctions hearing also pending.
