Olivia sat across from him.
“No.”

He looked past her.
“How is Caleb?”
The question came too late, but Olivia answered.
“He is learning you were wrong.”
Nathan’s eyes lowered.
“I did not mean it.”
Olivia’s voice stayed calm.
“Yes, you did.”
“That is why it hurt.”
He had no defense for that.
She stood to leave.
Nathan pressed one hand against the glass.
“Tell him I am sorry.”
Olivia looked at him once.
“When he is ready to hear anything from you, he will decide.”
