Senator’s Wife Slaps Pregnant Woman at Her Mother’s Funeral Before a Sealed DNA Test Reveals She Is His Sister.
The slap cracked across the cemetery before the priest could finish his prayer.
Elena Cross’s head turned sharply beside her mother’s open grave. A small line of blood appeared at the corner of her lip.
The polished wooden coffin rested beneath white funeral flowers. Mourners froze in black coats. Photographers lifted their cameras as if instinct had replaced decency.
Victoria Hale stood in front of Elena, white fur coat glowing against the cold Virginia daylight, her pearl earrings trembling with rage.

Then Margaret Shaw, her mother’s estate attorney, came quickly from the cemetery entrance carrying a locked black evidence case and a sealed cream folder.
She stopped beside Elena.
Opened the case just enough to reveal another sealed laboratory packet.
Then faced Adrian and Victoria.
“The DNA report confirms Elena is Adrian Hale’s sister.”
Adrian’s mouth opened, but no words came.
Victoria’s accusation collapsed into horror.
