Chapter 20 - PROTECTIVE ORDER HEARING
Ivan sat twenty feet away.
I had not seen him since the barbecue.
He looked thinner.
I hated that I noticed.
His attorney argued:
The grill incident was mutual escalation.
Megan destroyed property and threatened Ivan with a metal utensil.

“I wanted the heat source disabled and away from me.”
“Could you have turned it off normally?”
“Maybe.”

“No.”

The order was extended.
Not forever.
One year with renewal options.
No contact.
Distance requirements.
House possession temporarily to me.
