Chapter 13 - The Cabin Turns ViolentEthan watched Ava glide toward the cliffside ledge.

“She cannot land there,” he said.

Mark kept both hands on the controls.

“Get away from the door.”

Ethan moved closer to the cockpit instead.

“Fly lower.”

“No.”

“We can help her.”

“You tried to kill her.”

Ethan’s face tightened.

“You don’t know what you saw.”

“I know what I’m reporting.”

Mark banked away from the cliff, creating distance while waiting for rescue coordination.

Ethan looked at the instrument panel.

Ava’s beacon remained visible.

The marker descended slowly toward the coastline.

He reached inside his suit jacket and removed a small electronic key.

Mark noticed.

“What is that?”

Ethan pressed it.

The navigation display flickered.

A communication module beneath the panel went dark.

Mark swore.

“You installed a remote shutoff?”

“It’s my helicopter.”

“It is a chartered aircraft.”

“It is paid for through my company.”

Mark realized the depth of the preparation.

Ethan had not merely chosen an isolated route.

He had arranged access to the helicopter’s auxiliary systems.

The remote key could disable tracking, cabin recording, and external telemetry.

But Ethan had activated it too late.

Mark’s distress call had already transmitted.

Ava’s independent beacon continued flashing.

Ethan looked toward it.

Then he reached for the aircraft controls.

Mark struck his hand away.

Ethan attacked.

The two men slammed against the cockpit doors.

The helicopter dropped fifty feet.

A warning horn sounded.

Mark fought to regain the cyclic.

Ethan grabbed his throat.

The aircraft tilted toward the ocean.

Far below, Ava was approaching the ledge.

👉 Ethan could no longer erase Ava, so he turned the entire helicopter into a weapon.
