Chapter 10 - My confrontation with Warren’s brother

Warren’s younger brother, Caleb, came to my sister’s house.
Bad idea.
He wanted Emily’s tablet.
Why?
He claimed Warren had used it once for work and there might be client files.
I said:
“No.”
He said:
“It belongs to family.”
“Emily’s tablet belongs to Emily.”
“Nathan, don’t make this bigger.”
That phrase.
I lost control.
I shoved him.
One push.
Chest.
He stumbled into the porch railing.
No injury.
My sister screamed at me.
I stopped.
Caleb called police.
I admitted it.
There was doorbell video.
I later accepted a misdemeanor disorderly-conduct diversion arrangement.
No jail.
Anger course.
Community service.
Embarrassing.
Deserved.
Warren’s attorney used the incident to describe me as:
“A violent former spouse whose hostility infected the entire family.”
My push did not erase Warren’s conduct.

It did remind me that being furious does not make my hands righteous.
I never touched Caleb again.
