Chapter 15 - Laura’s mistake

Laura had made a serious mistake before the confrontation.
When she found the suspicious credit line, she logged into Warren’s business laptop using a password she knew from their marriage.
She copied folders.
Forwarded emails.
Photographed documents.
No authorization from the business.
Her attorney told her to stop.
She stopped.
But Warren’s defense later argued she had manipulated files.
Investigators had to obtain originals independently.
Cloud logs.
Lenders.
Banks.
Email provider.
The prosecution did not rely on Laura’s copies alone.
Her impulse was understandable.
Still sloppy.
Laura said:
“I thought if I didn’t grab it, he’d delete it.”
He did try to destroy records later.
