Maya is having another imagination episode about that man by the fence. Please stop encouraging it. I’m putting her to bed early so she calms down.
At 6:44, I replied:
Do not punish her for telling you she’s scared. I’ll pick her up after my shift.
I was a physical therapist at a rehabilitation clinic.
Caleb was working late at the distribution center he managed.
Diane watched Maya two evenings a week.
At 7:03:
She needs to learn that lying has consequences.
I called.
No answer.
Then work pulled me into a patient issue.
That detail haunted me.
Twenty minutes.
A normal delay.
Still.
By 7:31 the whistle had already blown.
Officer Mara cared about the text because it proved Diane knew Maya had been reporting a specific man before the lockout.
Not proof she knew Trent was dangerous.
