Chapter 21 - BARBARA’S CASE

Barbara was charged under offenses appropriate to the evidence involving restraint/coercive conduct and interference with emergency medical access.
No attempted murder.
No kidnapping fantasy.
Her attorney argued:
She had keys for safety.
She did not physically bind me.
Doors remained unlocked.
Paramedics arrived quickly.
My attorney did not control the criminal case.
Prosecutors did.
They focused on:
Intentional possession of my keys after I demanded them.
Physical blocking.
Statements that I was not allowed to leave.
Preexisting plan.

Medical risk known.
The case was serious because the conduct was purposeful, not because prosecutors inflated labels.
