Probation.
Anger-management requirements.
Restitution for medical expenses.
No jail fantasy.
Lauren’s financial case was more complex.
The Social Security card incident alone did not produce some dramatic identity-theft conviction.
The account records mattered.
She eventually accepted responsibility for a limited financial exploitation/theft-related offense covering specific post-revocation transactions prosecutors could prove were unauthorized.
Denise faced a separate financial count tied to documented personal charges after written access restrictions.
Other disputed amounts went into civil settlement rather than criminal conviction.
That distinction mattered.
I did not want prosecutors inflating conduct merely because the family was wealthy.
Money already distorts enough.
Both daughters repaid significant amounts under restitution and civil agreements.
