Walter knew four things before the porch shove.
He knew Bryce had a documented history of shoving other children after conflict.
He knew Peyton had reported being shoulder-checked near the rear railing.
He knew she said Bryce threatened to push her over.
He knew Bryce was continuing to taunt her.
What Walter did not know:
He did not know Bryce planned to shove Peyton on the front porch at that exact moment.
No evidence showed he encouraged a specific assault.
No evidence showed he disabled the camera to hide it.
No evidence showed a plan.
That mattered.
But Walter did something more ordinary and, in my mind, more corrosive.
He repeatedly redefined warnings as weakness.
He had enough information to separate the children.

Instead he told Peyton to stop tattling.
Then Bryce learned the adult with the most authority at the cabin would interpret Peyton’s objections as fragility.
