Price could not delete them.
He could, however, view the list of people who received copies.
He had come to identify every independent witness.
Hospital police detained him before he reached the stairwell.
Inside his coat was Arthur’s missing signet ring.
The black stone carried a trace of gold ribbon fiber and biological material consistent with Gigi’s injured cheek.
Price claimed Arthur gave it to him as collateral for legal fees.
The ring transformed the medical pattern into physical evidence.
Arthur’s attorney demanded independent testing.
Leah had already preserved the original bruise photographs, scale measurements, and metadata needed for comparison.
The doctor’s methodical work had closed another escape route.

Clara expected it to contain Oliver’s records.

After File Number One, Charles and Victoria sent Clara to a private behavioral clinic for three weeks. Clara remembered only visiting relatives during that period.
The clinic administered medication and recorded her repeating statements prepared by Dr. Kent.
“Arthur never hurt me.”
“I fall when I become upset.”
“My mother keeps me safe.”
The videos were used to convince Beatrice that Clara’s fear came from emotional instability.
Clara watched her nine-year-old self recite the sentences with empty eyes.
Leah stopped the video.
“You do not have to view everything today.”
“Yes, I do.”
“No. You need to know the evidence exists. You do not have to injure yourself with all of it at once.”
Clara looked at Gigi sleeping beneath the child’s blanket.
Her daughter would not be required to perform trauma for anyone’s satisfaction.
The flash drive contained records for another child treated at the same time.

The name had been removed.
A photograph showed a young girl approximately Clara’s age.
She had Victoria’s eyes.
Rachel searched Beatrice’s private trust archive.
The unidentified child was Caroline Bennett, Charles’s daughter from a relationship before his marriage.
Caroline lived at the Bennett mansion for six months after her mother died.
Then she vanished from family records.
Clara had no memory of her.
The clinic classified Caroline as dangerously delusional after she accused Charles of using Arthur to frighten families during financial negotiations.
She was transferred to permanent private care.
Beatrice believed the girl had died.
No death certificate existed.
Caroline would now be in her late thirties.

Price refused to identify the facility.
Nora offered no bargain.

Caroline may have been held inside the same network as Ethan and Oliver.
One surviving staff member remembered her.
“She recorded everything,” the nurse said. “She said one day Charles’s real children would need proof.”
Clara opened the evidence folder.
A hidden user had been adding files since Ethan’s crash.
Clara assumed Ethan’s automated system created them.
