Chapter 7 - THE HOSPITAL VIDEOThere was no camera inside my postpartum room.

Good.
Nobody wants a hospital recording mothers breastfeeding, sleeping, changing, bleeding, crying.
The corridor did have security cameras.
They showed Patricia arriving at 4:07 p.m.
Green dress.
Large handbag.
Fast stride.
At 4:11, a nurse entered my room.
At 4:13, the nurse left.
At 4:21, Daniel left carrying his wallet.
At 4:26, another patient’s visitor walked past.
At 4:29, my call light activated.
At 4:29 and eleven seconds, the door opened hard enough to hit the wall bumper.
A nurse ran inside.
Six seconds later another nurse followed.
At 4:31, staff pushed Lily’s bassinet into the corridor while one nurse carried her.
I was behind them.
Patricia followed.
The footage did not show the slap.
It did show timing.
Daniel had left eight minutes earlier.
No extended mysterious interval.
No hours where alternative injuries could have happened.
The hospital’s call-light log showed I pressed the button at 4:29:03.
Patricia had claimed in her first interview that I became dizzy while walking toward the bathroom.
But no one went toward the bathroom.

The chair I struck sat near the bed.
Her version would change.
