House sold or distributed.
Investments.
Personal property.
After several charitable gifts and small bequests, Charlotte received almost everything.
If I had died that night, she likely would have inherited an estate in the neighborhood of one million dollars after expenses and market fluctuations.
Significant.
Not fantasy wealth.
Would that automatically erase the unauthorized transfers?
No.
An executor could still investigate.
Banks still had records.
Potential claims could survive.
But Charlotte was also named successor executor.
And if no one knew to investigate, the transfers might simply look like family assistance.
My death would not guarantee the secret disappeared.
