Chapter 17 - THE MARINA FOOTAGE The marina had exterior cameras.
No recording from the river.
But the return mattered.
Charlotte and Daniel arrived without me.
At 7:47.
Charlotte walked off the boat first.
Daniel carried my purse.
My light jacket.
My phone.
My phone had been left inside the cabin before they asked me onto the deck.
They told deputies they grabbed my things after failing to find me because emergency responders might need identification.
Possible.
Then footage showed something else.
Before the first deputy approached, Daniel opened my purse.
Charlotte stood beside him.
He removed a small notebook.
Looked inside.
Returned it.
What was the notebook?
My pocket calendar.
Monday’s entry:
10:00 — Amelia — revoke POA / bank
Daniel had already known about Amelia.
But now investigators had video of him checking the exact reminder minutes after telling 911 his mother-in-law had disappeared.
His attorney said he was looking for medical information.
There was none in that notebook.
