Not for millions.
Costs of Lily’s therapy.
Legal fees related to correcting parentage.
Damages tied to the fraudulent DNA manipulation where legally recoverable.
Daniel joined part of it.
Against Margaret.
Against Dr. Benson’s former practice insurer for chain-of-custody failures.
The case settled after mediation.
No admission from the medical practice beyond procedural failures.
Margaret agreed to a written factual stipulation:
The specimen tested seven years earlier as “Daniel Whitmore” was Mark Whitmore’s sample.
She had participated in delivery and identification of that sample.
She did not inform Daniel or Claire.
That document mattered to me more than the settlement amount.
Not because paper outranked memory.
