Chapter 12 - My mistake at the hospital

I posted a photograph.
I should not have.
Not publicly at first.
Family group chat.
Twenty-three people.
Aunts.
Cousins.
Siblings.
I uploaded the steel skewer on the grass and Lily’s swollen leg.
Then wrote:
Carla broke Lily’s leg with this while Helen said she deserved it and Frank tried to stop the ambulance. If any of you knew they were “disciplining” my daughter behind my back, tell me now.
Emotionally understandable.
Strategically terrible.
Within an hour, screenshots left the group.
A cousin sent them to a friend.
The friend posted:
Rich family covers up aunt beating 9yo with metal rod.
Not accurate.
We were comfortable.
Not rich.
No established cover-up yet.
By morning, local social-media accounts had it.
People identified Carla’s employer.
They left reviews.
Threats appeared.
Carla’s attorney blamed me.
Not entirely fairly.
But my post had opened the door.
The prosecutor told me:
“Do not discuss evidence publicly.”
I stopped.
Daniel asked:
“Why did you send that?”
I stared.
“Because everyone has been talking about my child except me.”
He had no answer.
Still a mistake.
I later told the family:
“I should not have circulated Lily’s medical photograph.”
May you like
Specific.
No apology for calling the conduct serious.
