Daniel returned after nearly five months, not six weeks.

Therapist’s input.
Mostly behavior over time.
He stopped using parents as buffers.
If Helen complained about me, he said:
“Talk to Naomi if it concerns her.”
If Carla’s lawyer asked about family matters, he directed them to counsel.
If Frank said:
“Your wife is tearing us apart,”
Daniel answered:
“The assault did that.”
Not:
Naomi.
Not:
The case.
The act.
He showed me difficult messages without waiting for discovery.
Then, eventually, he stopped showing every message because marriage should not become surveillance.
We rebuilt privacy differently.
The first time Lily asked:
“Can I leave Grandma’s visit early?”
Daniel said:
“Yes.”
No requirement to finish conflict.

You’re avoiding accountability.
We still taught her to behave.
She had chores.
Screen limits.
Apologies when she was actually rude.

But apologies did not purchase escape from adults.
