Chapter 7 - Frank at the gate
Frank was not arrested at the barbecue.
The police officer separated him from EMS.
Took his information.
Warned him.
Later, investigators interviewed the paramedics.
Both described Frank physically blocking the only open side gate after being told an injured child required evaluation.
One medic said Frank told them:
“You’re not turning this into some abuse circus.”
That phrase mattered.
It suggested he knew the issue was not only medical.
Frank’s attorney said he was trying to avoid unnecessary ambulance expense and panic.
Possible motive.
Still obstruction.
Could he have believed Lily was not seriously hurt?
Yes.
Did he have authority to prevent EMS from reaching a minor after the custodial parent requested help?
No.
Frank eventually faced a misdemeanor obstruction/interference charge arising from the gate incident.
Not child kidnapping.
Not attempted murder.
He called it:

“Government insanity.”
I called it consequences.
