Good.
Then Frank deleted it from his phone.
Helen deleted it too.
Carla had already left the group.
Did deletion equal criminal evidence destruction?
Not automatically.
Cloud copies existed.
Daniel retained the thread.
Another member, Mark, had screenshots.
The content was recoverable.
Frank said:
“I delete old messages all the time.”
Maybe.
Timing terrible.
Helen said:
“I didn’t want to keep reading everyone attacking us.”
Also possible.
Investigators documented the deletions.
No dramatic obstruction felony followed.
But their credibility suffered.
Then they discovered a second chat.
Only:
Helen.
Frank.
Carla.
Named:
HOUSE RULES.
That one hurt.
Entries included:
If Lily asks Naomi to pick her up early, don’t reward it.
She can call Naomi after she calms down.
No treats after crying fits.
Carla decides consequences when she’s supervising.
And one from Frank:
Naomi doesn’t need a report every time Lily gets corrected. She weaponizes information.

A family policy of selective disclosure.
Not hiding physical abuse.
