Chapter 17 - The townhouse

Michael and Cassandra never moved into North Howe.
After proper notice, they collected their belongings.
The movers came with a neutral property manager present.
I stayed away.
Ellen stayed away.
Cassandra left a note on the kitchen counter.
I hope this house keeps you warm when your son doesn’t speak to you.
Ellen found it later.
She wanted to throw it away.
I wanted to save it.
Evidence instinct.
She asked:
“Evidence of what?”
I had no answer.
She tore it in half.
Then quarters.
Good.
Not every cruel sentence is an exhibit.
The townhouse was later rented at market rate.
Income went into our ordinary accounts.
We did not sell it to punish Michael.
