Michael and Cassandra separated fourteen months after the wedding.
Divorce filed four months later.
Not because of one surveillance clip.
The marriage had debt.
Lies.
Resentment.
Physical violence at its own wedding.
Loss of employment.
Housing instability.
Cassandra’s financial conduct with her father.
Michael’s false representations about the townhouse.
Marriage counseling did not repair enough.
They divided what little marital property they had.
Wedding gifts.
Furniture.
Cash.
Debt.
No children.
No custody war.
The expensive condominium never closed.
Their deposit was partly forfeited under contract terms.
Michael moved into a one-bedroom rental.
Cassandra stayed with a friend for several months.
No perfect new life.
